Jump Scare Rating: For most of its running time, Overlord is more action than horror movie and although there are tense scenes, the jump scares are fairly minor and heavily telegraphed (the exception being the scare at 15:15 which comes out of nowhere).

6:40 – During the opening plane scene, immediately after a soldier vomits, heavy machine gun fire pierces the hull of the plane.
10:50 – After Boyce reaches dry land, he hears voices in the distance but is forced to duck when heavy gunfire rings out around him.
12:00 – Loud gunfire may startle some as one of the Americans is executed by Nazi soldiers.
15:15 – As the soldiers walk across a field on the way to the rendezvous point, a landmine explodes as one of the soldiers says “that way, you get a cut of the profits”.
28:10 – Boyce approaches a slightly ajar door to look at Chloe’s aunt. He hears a noise behind him and turns around, when he looks back a disfigured person is standing in front of the door.
28:20 – Chloe starts talking from behind Boyce.
46:20 – After the scientist and soldier leave, Boyce looks through the hole in the wall once more and this time a mutated person lunges towards the camera.
48:05 – As Boyce inspects the tar pit, something moves in the bag suspended above it.
1:02:15 – As Chase walks away from Wafner (who appears to be unconscious) saying “I think I’m gonna need…” he is suddenly tripped by Wafner.
1:21:56 – As Chloe talks to Paul in the tunnel, a mutated person reaches in and pulls her off screen.
1:24:02 – Ford turns around after setting the explosives and Wafner is standing directly in front of him.
1:29:15 – Wafner is suddenly shot after saying “I am a god, Corporal”.
