Jump Scare Rating: While not well recognized for it, The McPherson Tape is actually the first found footage horror movie, and just like many early found footage horror movies it places a larger emphasis on coming off authentic than traditional scare methods like jump scares.

Synopsis: The McPherson family gather to celebrate the fifth birthday of their youngest. While filming the celebration, they end up capturing footage of something much bigger when they are visited by aliens.
